Applicants to the PA program must have acquired a minimum of 500 hours of direct patient care experience by the time the CASPA application is submitted.
Unless applicant are already closely working with a PA, shadowing a PA is important and can enhance their application but is not considered health care experience. Volunteer hours are not considered competitive health care experience and often cannot be counted towards the 500-hour minimum.
Apply through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants between mid-April and Nov. The PA supplemental application, found in the CASPA Program Materials section, must also be completed during the same time frame. CASPA will not send their application materials without the completion of this section. Payment for the supplemental application processing is made by going to SLU Marketplace.

Please the PA program requires three letters of reference, even though CASPA completes an application with only two.
International medical graduates with 500 hours of health care experience outside of the United States must also acquire at least 250 hours of patient care experience in the United States by the time of application.
Applicants whose native language is other than English are required to take the TOEFL® Internet-based Test by Nov. A combined minimum score of 100 is required, along with minimum component scores of 22-Reading, 22-Listening, 26-Speaking and 24-Writing.

2. GPA & COURSE REQUISITES
Earn a cumulative and science GPA of 3.0 or higher as calculated by CASPA. If you have a 3.0 or less, then we will accept a GPA from a Master’s level program or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from at least one semester/term of a graduate-level certificate or degree program. The graduate program curriculum must include coursework in Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology/Immunology, and Biochemistry.
3. DEGREE REQUISITES
Earn a baccalaureate degree conferred from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. If you are still in progress of conferring/completing your bachelor degree program, you must have your degree on an official transcript prior to the start of the program.
4. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Submit two letters of recommendation:
(i)One letter of recommendation must be from a medical provider such as a physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physician.
(ii)It is recommended that one letter is from a PA.
There is no separate application process for the Brown Scholarship.
The university recommend strongly that applicant make every effort to submit their completed application along with all the required supporting documents well before the deadline.

Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mary Baldwin University admission requirements are:
1. A bachelor’s degree is required prior to enrollment. Applicant's official transcripts from the degree-granting institution must be sent to Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS).
2. Submit a non-refundable supplemental fee of $45.
3. Students for whom English is not their primary language, regardless of US citizenship, are required to submit their TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score with their application.
