Graduate Student Admission
College description: The College of Nursing provides courses of study at the bachelor master and doctoral levels. Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree are eligible to apply to take the state licensing examination to become professional registered nurses. Study for the Master of Science in Nursing degree includes options for clinical focus in numerous areas—acute care, adult-gerontology, family, pediatric, psychiatric mental health, women health—as well as role function in administration, nursing education, clinical specialization or as nurse practitioners. Doctoral course work is available in the Ph.D. and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees.Not Permitted to Continue Policy within the College of Nursing.This policy applies to all students enrolled in BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs and postmaster certificates.PhD students must have CPR certification within the first semester of enrollment.Results of a one-step Mantoux Tb skin test or QuantiFERON blood test must be submitted each year thereafter while the student remains in the nursing program.Since Hepatitis B is a series of three injections over the course of several months, it may not be completed before the deadline.Failure to obtain the physical examination or the provider assurance may prevent the university from placing the student in a clinical setting.Such conditions may prevent students from completing clinical practical coursework at some partner agencies.Students enrolled in the PhD program must have an active unrestricted Ohio RN license, or for international students, proof of legal ability to practice as a RN in country of origin.

Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences will admit one new cohort of DPT students each June. They anticipate a class size of 35 students. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis.
Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mary Baldwin University admission requirements are:
1. A bachelor’s degree is required prior to enrollment. Applicant's official transcripts from the degree-granting institution must be sent to Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS).
2. Submit a non-refundable supplemental fee of $45.
3. Students for whom English is not their primary language, regardless of US citizenship, are required to submit their TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score with their application. A minimum score is 570 (paper-based) or 88 (internet-based). A student may be exempted if they have graduated with a bachelors or graduate degree from a 4-year accredited US university.
There is no minimum GRE score needed to apply for Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mary Baldwin University.
5. A minimum of 3.0 overall GPA required.
6. Two references are required. At least one reference must be from a physical therapist.
7. 40 hours are required in at least two different settings, such as hospital inpatient, outpatient, pediatrics, long-term care, etc.
