Cumulative GPA & Major GPA
Their cover letter is a formal, professional letter applicant write that should be no less than one and no more than two pages single-spaced, following academic writing conventions. The content of their cover letter should include their major and an acknowledgement that applicant have met all of the other essential qualifications to apply to the STEP program. In their cover letter, highlight particular strengths, qualities, and skills applicant bring as a prospective student and as a future teacher candidate. Include in their letter experiences related to these strengths, qualities, and skills. Include in their letter their philosophy or beliefs about the purpose of education for the youth applicant will teach and their families and communities, as well as for society.
Recommendation letters cannot come from relatives.
In their application to the STEP program, applicant must verify at least 30 hours of working with pre-college age children or youth in a supervised, educational setting. To document their experience, provide a brief signed letter from a supervisor indicating the number of hours applicant performed as a volunteer or paid work with pre-college age children or youth Applicant may choose to have one of their supervisors write the required letter of recommendation on their behalf. If this is the case, be sure to have this person indicate in the letter the number of hours that applicant worked directly with youth.

The PhD programs in Coordinated Doctoral Programs at P&S do not accept applicants as transfer students, including current students in other programs at GSAS; therefore, there is no special application.
The university recommend, but do not require, a score for an advanced GRE test. An application is considered incomplete without these scores. Some programs will consider MCAT scores in place of the GRE exam.
The English proficiency requirement can be fulfilled through the Test of English as a Foreign Language or the International English Language Testing System GSAS requires a minimum TOEFL score of 100 on the internet-based test or a 7.5 for the IELTS for all admitted applicants. TOEFL and IELTS scores are valid for two years after the test date.
Supporting documents will not be accepted after the deadline date.

This course is about science teaching and learning in non-classroom settings. Applicant will use the research on teaching and learning to make STEM experiences relevant to more learners, create and facilitate a learner-centered approach to science experiences in an informal setting, and practice being a culturally responsive teacher.

Applicants applying for federal financial aid or for scholarship consideration are recommended to submit a completed application by the posted priority consideration deadline. A master’s degree consisting of a minimum of 36 credits with a 3.0 GPA minimum from a regionally or nationally accredited college or university.
Applicants to the Doctor of Education EdD program are strongly encouraged to submit GRE examination scores for the General Test as part of the admission application. While the GRE examination is not a requirement for admission consideration to the program, submitting a GRE test score is an opportunity for applicants to present additional evidence of the quantitative and verbal skills required for the doctoral-level study.
The Committee does not use cut off scores or minimum suggested averages for GRE in the evaluation process, or to determine admission consideration.
ETS will not send official score reports for GRE examinations after the five-year period.
Once ETS has electronically sent their score report, and their application is submitted, receipt of their official test score will be shown as received/verified on their application.
