Formed in 1964, we were the first biomedical informatics department in the U.S., and we continue to be recognized as an exceptional, comprehensive training program. Because an important aspect of informatics training is interactive hands-on skill development, each class in the Biomedical Informatics program will have 3 scheduled virtual meetings per semester on Tuesdays from 6-8 MST. These meetings are vital to online students having the same experience as our in-person students. There are no formal course prerequisites to enter the program, but we strongly encourage a background or course completion in computer programming or healthcare related topics.
