This is an impactful, service-learning experience that will allow you to work hand in hand with Vietnamese local healthcare providers at the hospital or health center level. The first week consists of classroom instruction, cultural exposure, and practical workshops and excursions. Following this, participants engage in two weeks of service-learning activities at host institutions such as hospitals, community health centers, or NGOs. The program particularly focuses on infection prevention and control (IPC) in healthcare settings and allows students to also learn various important healthcare services within different communities, such as nutrition programs for mothers and children, health education and promotion, and community health workers and their role. Classroom instruction and immersion in the local culture is blended into service-learning activities where students work hand in hand with service providers at health facilities in urban and rural areas.
